What To Wear

Sometimes the camera has a way of transforming your favorite stylish shirt into a very unstylish nightmare. For family, individual, or engagement portraits, it is important to stick to simple. The following is a guideline that will hopefully lead you in the right direction as you pick out your wardrobe for the session.

WHAT TO WEAR
Solid and simple patterns
Bright colored tops
Nice jeans, paired with a dressy top
Clothing that fits properly, nothing too baggy or too tight
A very dressy outfit – a sexy dress for girls and button down and slacks for guys (possibly even a tie)
Accessories that fit your personality- hats, jackets, funky jewelry, sunglasses, scarves.
Families/Couples should stick to the same color family (ex. light blue and dark blue) or bright solid colors

WHAT NOT TO WEAR
Wild, trendy patterns
Bright white shirts
Shirts with writing or horizontal stripes/plaids
Sleeveless shirts, tube tops, or extremely short skirts
Girls stay away from tops with low necklines

A few final tips:
Make sure you are comfortable in the clothes you bring with you. Make sure you can sit, stand, run, and jump around in them so we can capture you at your best. Girls, it’s a good idea to bring a pair of flip flops to walk around in if you plan of being photographed in heels.

Props are great! Anything that will make your picture more unique be sure to bring with you. Instrument, Frisbee, hat, football, chair, ect.
